- "When I decided to sell my practice I was lucky enough to have been introduced to Andrew Roberts. He conducted a rigorous research process but, more importantly I think, then managed the sale process adeptly to a conclusion which both I and the buyer were pleased with. He was always available with wise counsel and I am sure that I would not have got to the same position without his help. I have no hesitation in recommending him to other managing partners." Clive Matthews,Former MD of FMW Law Ltd
- "We have used Andrew Roberts to assist in the identification and approach to possible acquisition targets and have found working with him very helpful. He listened to our key business objectives and tried to locate and match possible target firms - the resulting introductions were always well prepared." Richard Hill, Managing Director, Gregg Latchams
- "Andrew Roberts worked with us in 2016 and 2017 when we transferred our niche healthcare law practice to another law firm. Apart from his negotiation skills, there were two things that stood out in his professional service. First, he took a great deal of care and time to understand the detail of our business so that there were no unplanned issues along the way and second was the fact that he was always available to talk about the proposed arrangements." Andrew Lockhart, Lockharts and VWV
Andrew has worked at the forefront of Internet development for the past 25 years. He was Managing Director of CompuServe UK before becoming European General Manager at a time when CompuServe was Europe's largest internet access provider with over 1,000,000 members. He left (with David Gilroy) to become co-founders of Sift - an Internet technology business focused on the professional services sector. From 1996 to 2004 Sift attracted £7m of venture capital investment and spawned several successful divisions most notably PracticeWEB (that builds and operates websites for over 600 accounting firms) and AccountingWEB (that delivers web services to over 150,000 accountants in the UK).
Andrew's early career was as an IT consultant with Coopers and Lybrand, (now PWC) where he worked in America with US software giants such as HP, Amdahl and Digital. He has an MA in Engineering from Cambridge University.
"We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time."
I love this quotation (Four Quartets, TS Eliot) – an observation on life in general which also seems relevant to our business – it reminds me of the “endless exploration” associated with Internet technologies and the sense of adventure. It’s a fantastic journey of discovery and rediscovery – I love it!
