In the last 35 years Steve has gained a huge range of experience in working in and with professional service firms. After 10 years at the DTI, he joined Levy Gee Accountants as its Practice Manager before becoming the Joint Managing Partner, an Equity Partner and subsequently worked in the management team as the firm floated. He has specialised in the last 15 years in providing business advice to a range of customers and has carried out over 1,000 business reviews on organisations of all shapes and sizes. In 2006 he wrote a paper for a leading bank anticipating the challenges facing the profession and has now worked with over 300 firms from sole practitioners to top 50 firms. He trains and lectures widely and has lectured for the SRA at its first COLP and COFA conference, The Law Society, R3 and for all the major UK Banks.
He now acts as a strategic consultant and roles include non-executive participation on law firms boards, providing assistance on proposed mergers (both for acquiring and acquired firms) and general business advice.
In addition he is a visiting lecturer at the Cass Business School Centre for Charity Effectiveness MSc course and advises charity trustees and management on their responsibilities in a very challenging world.
